It's all online, Erato, so any links given can be accessed by everyone. They sometimes recommend extra reading for interest but that isn't necessary to complete the course. In the ones I've already done there have been short lectures, videos, discussions. Then the learners tend to pick it up with lots of discussion on line. The moderators are lecturers from the Uni and they keep an eye on the discussions, answering questions where necessary and stepping in if anyone gets out of line!

Oooh I'm being followed :D
I managed to fill in the survey this morning, so the link was working for me. A lot of the questions were generic for all courses, asking about career development etc, which wasn't relevant for me, I've done with my career, now I'm trying something completely different!

Everyone does have access to the same information, Erato, but they don't have to work at the same place.   What we are doing currently is trying to identify the RC participants so we can 'follow' them and read any comments they might post once the course starts.  We also 'follow' other people, for example those whose research might be in the same areas as our own.  You can read everyone's posts but with over 2,000 people taking part, the way to keep in touch is to 'follow' people so that you can prioritise their posts if you wish

Hmmm still not working for me. Anyone know if the survey is individualised to the people following the course or is it a generic one that all people on that course fill in please?

I have had a new email from Future Learn inviting me to complete the survey - this time it worked!

Really looking forward to this course - thanks for the heads up. Great to see so many references to RootsChat  in the discussion thread. We seem to be gaining new members!

It's the same survey for all Future Learn courses as far as I remember.
