If Mary Bell did not put a Fathers name at her marriage would that not suggest she did not have a Father could she be born to a sister of Harriet Vallance nee Bell rather than a Brother of Harriet Vallance nee Bell. Harriet had a sister Sarah.
There are 2 Mary Bell's born December 1/4 1851 East Retford. Is there anyway of finding out who the Parents are without buying a birth certifcate.  One is 15 530 and the other is 15 531 could this be a mistake and there is just the one or is there two Mary Bell's born the same 1/4.

I am trying to find the Mary Bell who living with her Aunt and Uncle Robert and Harriet Vallance nee Bell so there was 2 Mary Bell's born Dec 1/4 1851 one to William and Charlotte who was the other one born to. How can we find that baptism.

Cannot find a marriage for Vallance/ Bell
But there is this one
Ordsall
6-12-1835 Robert Vallance and Harriet PAGDIN so it appears she could have been a widow.

Thank you everybody for all your input.

It has all thrown up as many questions as answers.  I may have to look again at some of the information I have regards George Bell born 1818 Ordsall son of Jonathon Bell and Ann White.
That is did he marry Elizabeth Ingham or Elizabeth Vallance.

Thanks again everybody for the information and offers of help.

The information I have is that

George Bell Married Elizabeth Ingham Newark 1849.

1851 census living Clarbourgh/Retford  George Bell born Ordsall age 33 Wife Elizabeth Born Newark age 33 Daughter Mary Ann born Retford age 1 month.
1861  census living Sheffield George Bell born Ordsall age 43 Wife Elizabeth born Newark age 46
Son William Henry born Retford age 8.

The thinking now is that Mary Ann died in Sheffield between 1851 and 1861 and that the Mary Ann
living with Robert and Harriet is a"red herring".

Will probably have to pursue this on the Yorkshire board.

Thanks again everyone for their help.
