Hi Girl Guide,

Personally I think you should save your pounds, as far as this particular marriage is concerned. The paper trail I sent, sets out the England Thomas connection very well I think. In addition, Winifred and Cyril are buried in the same plot, providing further confirmation of the correct couple.

Have you considered that the information on the tree may be incorrect?

[I can have a look for the marriage of the Winifred Alice (nee?) England who was born in 1912]

No she hasn't has she.  I don't know how this Winifred Alice was arrived at for the descendants list that I have.

I am hoping to hear from the Rotorua council about how to find birth records between 1900 and 1930.  Several of Walter F and Lucy's children were born there.  I am hoping to find Winifred listed.

I need to get this clarified otherwise I shall have her in the wrong place on the family tree.

Doesn't New Zealand have a national base for all the births, marriages and deaths in the country?

Those of you who do research in the UK will know that we have the General Register Office which has all the BMD records for England and Wales.  Scotland and Ireland have their own GROs.

Hi,

Throwing this in about Lucy (nee England) and William Arthur Bishop.

The 1957 Electoral Roll for Onehunga show a William Arthur Bishop and  Lucy.  William was a driver.
1969- Remuera, no William Arthur Bishop and  Lucy is a Widow.
1972 still in Remuera no William Arthur Bishop showing.

Could the death in 1976 for the William Arthur Bishop Minnie is going to look up be for a different chap with the same name?
