Hi Jen,
Yes, Hannah was the third child of James of Aston b.1674 and Mary (nee Williams) whose sister Hannah married the locally famous Rev. Joseph Collett.
I have nothing further on Hannah or her husband, although the present Rev. in Cote is one Graham Sparrowhawk. I sent him an email this afternoon as we plan to go over again this Christmas. Him and his Wife are a truly delightful couple.
Do you have any more info on the Williams's in NZ? I know one Joshua Stranger Williams was a Judge in NZ - I have his line upwards.

Hi

My relations in New Zealand are descended from Sarah Jane Williams born 1850 in Abingdon to James Williams and Matilda Cook.

She married Charles Alfred Fisher in 1874.  I think she had 3 sons and my Great Aunt married one of them and emigrated to New Zealand in about 1909/1910

I've come across the Judge in my searches

Hi Jen, James b 1811 was my ggg granfather's brother. Their father was Benjamin of Hill Hall Reading and his second wife Sarah Edington.

Mikenoni if you read this - my pm to you bounced. If you want a copy of the tree please forward me your email address.

Hello, I'm Lesley,
I have really enjoyed the conversation & 'ourfamilynearandfar' - a great website.
I think I may have a new thread to add to the story.
I have a NSW transcript of death for Sarah BETTS - I will try to make it brief - but I feel certain that she is the dau. of Sarah EDGINGTON. It incudes the following info:

Death 1 Jul 1860 Parramatta NSW  age 89yrs   (b. abt 1770)
Marriage - Abingdon BKS at age 27 to Matthew BETTS  ( not in OFHS's  PR transcripts)

Parents
Hardy, Lincs
Congreve, Lincs, Thorney
Walker, Drax, Hull
Armstrong, Canonbie, Birmingham
Perkins, Birmingham
Rawcliffe, Marton, Fylde
Harrison, Patrington

Hello, I'm Lesley,

I think I may have a new thread to add to the story.
I have a NSW transcript of death for Sarah BETTS - I will try to make it brief - but I feel certain that she is the dau. of Sarah EDGINGTON. It includes the following info:

Death 1 Jul 1860 Parramatta NSW  age 89yrs   (b. abt 1770)
Marriage - Abingdon BKS at age 27 to Matthew BETTS (abt 1797)  ( not in OFHS's  PR transcripts)

Parents   Josiah ALLEN, gentleman & Sarah FLETCHER (Mother's maiden name only required)

From OFHS transcripts of St Helens there is
CH: 11 Nov 1770 Sarah FLETCHER, dau. of Josiah & Mary Allen, cutler.
We have some hints of Baptist or Quaker background, could this be why I cannot find some marriages or death records?
A few Questions:  Did Richard Edgington die before 1797 when Sarah married Josiah ALLEN?
Could Sarah have died in childbirth before the CH of dau. Sarah ALLEN & the marriage to Mary ?

Dau. Sarah & her husband Matthew BETTS are both mentioned in the will of Josiah ALLEN of Abingdon in 1805

I hope someone may be able to clarify this,

Happy Christmas everyone  Lesley
