Hi, I live very close to the museum - and I'm ashamed to say I never even knew it existed untill a couple of weeks ago.

Anyway, I'm planning a vist in the next couple of weeks - so if anyone needs anything let me know - I'm unsure if they will let me take photos but I'll ask.

Cheers

Fiona

Hello Fiona.
I wondered if you have any information on  Lieutenant S L Moffatt, of the Lancashire Fusilers, killed in 1916?
Regards.
 Tom.

Stanley Leslie Moffatt died of his wounds 13th August 1916
He is buried at  at Peronne Road Cemetery, Maricourt.
A can get a copy of his grave photo for £3 from this site

http://www.twgpp.org/information.php?id=2829471
There is also a grave for him in Eccles (Peel Green) Cemetery

http://www.cwgc.org/search/casualty_details.aspx?casualty=311220

He first enlisted in the Manchester regiment ( Manchester Regiment 6532 ) and later transfered to the Lancashire fusiliers ( Temporary Second Lieutenant)which is shown on his medal card index.
You can get a copy of this card for £2 from the national archives

http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/documentsonline/details-result.asp?Edoc_Id=4272316&queryType=1&resultcount=1

It shows his mothers address on the card.
His brother Cecil Henry Moffatt also died of his wounds and was also served in the Lancashire fusiliers. Again if you do not have access to ancestry site, you can get a copy of his medal card index from the national archives.
