Death Registration William Alexander WALKER

I am unable to trace death registration of William Alexander WALKER born 12/04/1890 Tullylish, Down.  He resided in Cross Rathfriland in 1911 Census.  A check on GRONI has failed to locate his death registration record.  His son did not record him as NOK circa 1924.  I would appreciate any advice to progress. Thanks

Walker William Alexander of the Down County Mental Hospital Downpatrick county Down farmer died 25 July 1941 Administration Belfast 15 October to Joseph Walker farmer. Effects £835 11s. 5d.

When and where did wife die? what was listed as status? (widowed, etc.)

Here's the Walker family in 1901. Have you checked for a burial in family plot/same graveyard as family?

I have the Tullylish and Rathfriland Census details.  Apart from the Birth and Census records the last reference is in 1924 when his sons Army attestation papers show the son's wife's father as next of kin.  No mention of his father or mother then?  I am also aware of the Downpatrick death but I am reasonably certain that is not him.
His wife was Elizabeth Bell born abt 1880 from Hilltown?  They were marrried on 31/07/1908 at Hilltown Presbyterian Church

You haven't really answered the question I was asking. Not being listed as son's next of kin in 1924 doesn't confirm that the father is alive or dead so doesn't help to find his death. We need to work forward from the last sighting. Is the 1911 census the latest record of him, and his wife, found?
What about the son's marriage (when?)- what's his father's occupation then and is he listed as deceased?
How were you able to rule out the 1941 death?
Are you related to the Walker family? did anyone keep in contact with William? or is there any indication that he disappeared or emigrated?
Unfortunately he might appear in records just as William Walker making him more difficult to pin down.

An Elizabeth Walker of Cross signed Ulster Declaration in 1912- no sign of William with that address but not everyone did sign.
