Hi everyone, I have this record -see pic. I have searched ancestry and all the usual sites. but cannot find anything on his military record. where do you suggest I might look next ? He survived the wars. died in 1946.

Also the second pic is of the same man probably about 1918 does anybody know if this is still the uniform of the ASC or is it a different regiment.

He was born William Hagan 12/9/1889. Londonderry N. Ireland. I got him on census etc. but in particular i am looking for his wife. I was wondering if he was paid during or after service would her name appear on any records like pension maybe.

thankyou for your time

If he was still serving in the Armed Forces after 1920, his records will still be with the MOD.

See: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/requests-for-personal-data-and-service-records

There will be a fee of £30, unless his spouse is still alive. It's free for her.
You also have to provide a death certificate.

He looks like a Staff Sergeant,  three stripes with a small crown surmounting it.

The Army Service Corps  became  the Royal Army Service Corps  just after the end off WW1, I believe.

The Royal Logistics Corps is the latest name, but also incorporates other  functions.
Have a look on the internet for a RLC   or RASC  forum,  If it still exists?

That number on the certificate appears to be his army number.  My dad was also in the RASC his number was  147733.  my dad volunteered in September 1939. So I would guess  that your man joined up in late 1939 or early 1940  just by his army number.

No death certificate needed for an application for his service record for someone born that long ago because the U.K. Ministry of Defence would regard him as being deceased.

However,  it sounds as though he served during WW1  then returned to Civilian life.   Then it seems to me that he  enlisted in the RASC, perhaps he had experience or qualifications which were valuable to the RASC
