Pike Pyke
« on: Thursday 14 July 05 07:14 BST (UK) »
Charles Huntley Pike / Pyke. Born 12 Sept 1861 Great Driffield Yorkshire.

1891 Census, age 29,  Single , Occupation Navvy, Place Salford Lancashire as a Boarder

I can only find his wife Mary Ellen and 2 sons in the 1901 census.

Can anyone tell me where I may find information for censuses during this time for India as I know he served there.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,
Have you seen the actual entry on 1901 census for Mary Ellen. does it say she is married or could she be a widow?

As he was a navvy in 1891 in Lancashire he's obviously moved around a  bit.

I've looked on Freebmd and there is a death entry for a Charles Pike in the March1/4 of 1896 in Wells/Somerset, maybe just a coincidence that the age at deathwould fit with your Charles' age.

good luck
