Shankill Cemetery--Walter Kane

Looking for burial information for Walter Kane, Carpenter, who died between 1864-1870.  He was living in Shankill at the time, and in 1864, he had a son baptised at the Greater Victoria Street, Presbyterian church.  Walter was married to Jane Mullen who came to the USA, about 1869-1870.

I haven't found a death registration for Walter Kane 1864-onwards but I did see a marriage in 1846.

Are you sure his son was baptised in 1864? If so, is there an age or date of birth recorded? There's a N.Y. death record for a Walter Kane with those parents born c1864 but ages on death certificates aren't always reliable.

Yes, this is our Walter, who was married in 1846.  His son Walter, was born in 1864.  By 1870 , Jane Mullen-Kane, and Walter Jr, are living in New York.  Jane says she was married, but her husband Walter (born about 1818) is nowhere in site.  We think he may have died, and she moved to the States to be with her daughters.

Walter Kane Jr, was baptised at Ste-Anne's, Shankill, on December 23, 1864.  So, our Walter Sr. died sometime betweenn 1864 and 1870.

An Ellen Jane Kane married a Henry Stewart Douglas in Knockbreda Church of Ireland on 26 February 1870, her father was given as Walter Kane, a carpenter. A Mary Ann Kane was a witness. Ellen Jane's father was noted as "deceased".

yes, this is our direct line.  As you can see, Walter is deceased, at the time of his daughter's marriage  to Robert Crawford in 1870.

The Crawford-Kane marriage was actually in 1866. If Walter Kane is noted as deceased on that certificate it apparently narrows down date of death to c1864-1866.

As I asked previously- does the 1864 baptism give the son's age or date of birth? If not, it's possible that the father died and the son was born before registration.

Sry, for being so confusing.

On the marriage record of Robert Crawford, to Elizabeth Kane, on July 12, 1866, Walter is not listed as deceased.

By the time of the marriage of his daughter Eleanor Jane to Henry Stewart Douglas, on February 26, 1870, Walter is listed as deceased.

Walter's son (Walter James) was baptised in 1864, at Ste-Anne's, Shankill, as previously stated.

Walter must have died between 1864 and 1870.  I am just covering all bets, even though he is not listed as dead on his daughter, Elizabeth Kane's marriage in 1866.

After 40 years doing genealogy, I prefer to err on the long side of things, as typo's in records seem to run rampart..

This is why i am looking between 1864, and 1870.
