pollington death in pembury workhouse
« on: Tuesday 27 October 15 17:20 GMT (UK) »
Hi

Can anyone help? My ancestor Henry Pollington born abt 1826 in Speldhurst appears to have died in the Tonbridge Union Workhouse (sandhill) in 1882. He was married to Harriet Puttock. Does anyone know whether he did die here or how I can find out. Also any ideas on where he might be buried. Not sure what happens when someone dies in the workhouse.

Many thanks
Lisa

His death cert will show the place of death.
Or his burial would probably say he was of the workhouse. Likely to be in the local parish churchyard, unless the workhouse had its own burial ground.

Have you found him in 1881?

modified to add - yes, just found him, he was in the workhouse in 1881
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex
