Thanks to BMLay’s research, I’ve added some information, hoping the excellent roots chat will have some hints for a marriage, as I’ve searched Irish and Scottish records to no avail.

Looking for a marriage of Michael Kelly to Mary Lineham or Williams.

Michael Kelly Snr came to Scotland and died in Glasgow 23rd March 1937, aged 55 years, states first married to Mary Sweeney, second to Mary Williamson or Williams.

BMLay’s research his second wife was Mary Lineham, first married to Patrick Williams. Marriage 1910 in Cork, spelling Leneham. Patrick Williams dies 1916 Cork.

Michael b. Jul 11 1907
2.   Patrick b. Nov 05 1908 - died Renfrewshire, Scotland December 1966
3.   John b. Jun 26 1910 - died Glasgow, Scotland December 1952
4.   Daniel b. Aug 20 1912 - died 1913
5.   Mary b. Apr 22 1914 - died 1977

There was another child born to Michael KELLY & Mary SWEENEY
Peter on Jun 27 1915 LINK
At this time Michael was in the army Private in RDF (Royal Dublin Fusiliers) Regt #6589
There is an extensive army record available for him
It names Mary Anne SWEENEY as his spouse and lists his six children
He was discharged from the army in August 1915
There may be more investigation needed here to ensure the Michael KELLY in Scotland in 1937 is the same person due to the reason for his discharge.

All newspaper cuttings at that time refer to the family having four children


Also Patrick WILLIAMS m Mary LINEHAN/LENEHAN on Jun 26 1909
They had three children at least
Thomas Francis b Sep 11 1910
Daniel Joseph b Nov 07 1912
Mary Ellen b May 19 1916

I cannot see a marriage for Michael KELLY & MARY WILLIAMS formerly LINEHAN/LENEHAN
This would I expect have taken place after Oct 1916 when Peter WILLIAMS died

Prison records could indicate when he was released and if they had children this could narrow the time period in which they married.

Thanks for your information.
Michael was released in 1919, he was to go back to the front line as they were running low on soldiers. The war ended a month after his pardon and he didn't actually see active duty.
He was arrested in Cork in 1919 for stealing a sheet of iron, here it lists his next of kin as his wife, Mary.
The next entry I can find for him is on his son (Michael Keiran Kelly) registration form for the Tank Corp in Scotland in 1922 listing his next of kin as his father Michael, residence as Glasgow, Scotland.

Can anyone give me a link to be able to access the prison records for Michael Kelly of Kilcock. Spouse was Mary Anne Sweeney. Are there any photographs in existence?.

His Marriage Certificate says he was married July 9th 1907 that he was a labourer. He lists his father as Peter Kelly also a Labourer. This doesn't match his war or prison records where he states his father is Michael/Michl Kelly.
I have found all the newspaper articles about the murder and the Celbridge Union.
I have also located the Census records for the Sweeneys.
I guess I am most interested in what has happened to all the children but I guess that will have to wait for the next census.

Can't find them in the Scottish 1921 census but the Children married in Scotland and Michael also remarried and had at least 1 more child. He married in Cork. Not 100% sure it's him but he's on the Scottish 1921 census.
Michael and Mary's daughter is living with Mary's sister My great grandmother Bridget Harris (Sweeney) in Barrhead Scotland.
Michael Death is in Scotland 1937
