Have you recently been reunited with a family member or are you about to meet for the first time in years?   

A brand-new documentary series is looking to hear from people who have lost touch with loved ones, and have managed to track them down, either independently or with the help of specialist agencies.   Each programme will follow the process and detective work used by families and agencies as they hunt for lost relatives, and the cameras will be there to capture the moment as the two sides are reunited or meet each other for the very first time.

I've just watched the programme and read the thread. What an amazing story.

I felt though that the programme gave rather the wrong impression of Rootschat, describing it as '...a free internet family finding service......staffed by amateur people finders.....' 

It seems that Rootschat was referred to in exactly the same way on BBC "People Finders" again this morning and there has since been several requests from people to help find living family. I hope that the originator of this thread can correct this statement for the next series?

I suspected that there had been another mention of rootschat as I also noticed the sudden influx of requests for living people lookups

That explains it then as I've just noticed that. Perhaps when people join they ought to be sent a welcoming email explaining that living people can't be mentioned. That might save them having false hope and also save the Mods having to remove or adapt posts.

i was filmed in December 2016 for the 2nd series of family finders and would like to know when the series will start.  i cant seem to get any info from richochet the programme makers

New series started showing this week (11:00 BBC1).

Today's episode featured a RootsChat member (Skeggsy), but doesn't mention RootsChat by name - just "a Family History Forum".

Thanks for the heads up that it's back on! Seems to be on at 10am on BBC1 and then repeated on BBC2 the following morning at 7.15am
