Interested to read the above comments, I’ve been following Colclough and Turnock for decades now. Turnock have been somewhat easier, the Colclough line (although well publicised for the Irish Wexford side) is more tricky on the Staffordshire side, partly due to multiple same names being used in every generation eg. John, James, etc and multiple marriages.
I was reading some ‘documentation’ I found online by Googling the other day, notes of a descendant who had tried to research all the Colclough lines and managed somewhat, collated by his son.
“The Colclough Family; A Chronological Index ” by John Nicholas Colclough of Laois, Ireland, dated 1998. He doesn't profess to be correct on everything, but it’s interesting to read and he mentions the Colclough line of GoldenHill..and elsewhere.
I’d be delighted to hear anything of the Colcloughs based in Audley in the 1700’s and early 1800’s, especially some of whom in Wills were either listed as “Yeoman” or “Gentleman”…especially two elusive men. John Colclough died 1811, birth unknown but likely 1765-1777 and married a Sarah Edwards in Barthomley, also a related somehow James Colclough of the same Woodshutts, Talke, Audley etc area, who married an Ann/e Lindop. Thank you
