Hi all, im looking into my mothers family tree, and have discovered that she had a cousin in maybe Edinburgh, his name was harry dickson or dixon, he moved to scotland from southampton..harry was married and his wife was called Bella, maybe short for Isabella? Anybody on here able to help me with these names ?

Hi do you have dates ? and date of birth for Harry assuming he is dead as we are not allowed to do look ups on living people

Hi Rosie, thanks for the reply, unfortunately i dont have any dates, only a memory of mum telling me that her mum had a sister called liesel who married a dick dickson, and had kids called harry and dorothy, dorothy died while young, and harry moved to scotland, i can only assume it would have been around the 30's but cant be sure..

Hi Ev, liesel was german, her maiden name was schmidt, born in Cologne

FreeBMD has a birth of a Dorothy T E Dixon, mother's surname Schmidt, registered in Eastleigh in the September quarter of 1927. No Harry or Henry however. Maybe he was born in Germany?
Also a Dorothy T E Dixon, aged 14, died in 1942. Death registered in Winchester in the September quarter.
No marriage either.
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hi forfarian, thanks for that, yes that sounds like our dorothy, my mum told me she died quite young, and also, now iv got the correct spelling of the surname dixon, lol, the site you mentioned freebmd, can i access that?
