Rose Hannah SIMONS of Toynton
« on: Monday 05 October 15 02:11 BST (UK) »
Hi all
I have Rose Hannah Simons born 1863 at Toynton.  In the 1891 census for Lincolnshire she is with 4 of her children.  In Jun qtr at Spilsby she married George Robert Smith.  In the 1901 census for Lincolnshire she has 2 of her children under the name Smith but there is no sign of her husband George. I do not know where George was born.  I have Rose Hannah Smith burial 21/01/1944 at Grimsby and George Robert Smith burial 21/01/1944 Cleethorpes.  It seems odd that they were buried the same day but different cemeteries.  What I would like to know where George is in the 1901 census to find a bit more about his birth and occupation.
Thanks
george165

Hi keyboard86
Yes on the ukcensus online but no details.  Not knowing where he was born I couldn't see if he was there.
Thanks

Hi keyboard86
The death of George Robert Smith on the same day as Rose seems a bit strange.

Hi again, to be honest I truly believe on this occasion purchase of the marriage certificate would be your only logical next step?

Marriage
15 May 1891 at Wainfleet (All Saints)
George Robert SMITH (son of Joseph) to Rose Ann SIMONS (dau of Robert FALKNER)

From Spilsby spreadsheet here - http://mi.lincolnshiremarriages.org.uk/

Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

The 1944 burial at Cleethorpes ... the death was registered in Louth district.

I suspect this may have been the George Robert SMITH (born Wainfleet) who married Esther MOODY in 1880 and was last heard of in 1911 living in Stenigot (Louth district).

This GRS was probably the one whose birth was registered 1858 in Spilsby district.

His wife Esther may have died in Grimsby district 1937 aged 79 and GRS may  have been taken to Cleethorpes to have been buried with her.
Today I broke my personal record for most consecutive days alive.

It looks like you have identified the wrong marriage. Or the wrong Rose at any rate.
Your Rose from Toynton was Simons in 1891 and Smith in 1901 but didn't marry George Robert Smith in 1891.
The other Rose Simons was from Croft, born circa 1867, and she and George Smith are together on the 1901 census
