It would seem Miss Rebecca's first husband was still alive when she got married to Isaac

And as Rebecca was still alive in 1911 - if she was a bigamist it would account for why Isaac was free to marry Charlotte

The case seems to have been settled in 1902 she had tried to take him to court for maintenance but it was denied on the fact they had proof she was still married to her first husband even though she tried to say she was told he was dead but a death cert proves he died in 1882

In 1841

Isaac Tesseymond 35
Mary Bland 25
Thomas Bland 5
Martha Bland 5
George Bland 3months

Sarah Ireland 15
John Ireland 10
Mary Ireland 5

In the 1851 census there is also a Ann Ireland with the family age 18 and down as a servant

Thank you for all your research and your replies, I really appreciate it.

Wow there are quite a few things that we really didn't know regarding Rebecca nor could we go back any further than Isaac bland as we didn't know who his parents were, so your replies have helped a lot.

so do you think Rebecca and Isaac Bland had and any children together?
seeing Isaac Tissiman Gott has thrown me off a little as I was expecting him to have the name surname Bland instead of Mary.

I'm confused as in 1841 Isaac Bland doesn't show up in the census but George bland does and in 1851 Isaac Bland shows up but George Bland doesn't.

Im finding it hard with the spelling of Tissiman as there looks like there are many variations eg. Tissiman Gott, Fissiman Gott, Tesseymond.

I searched for George Bland Birth and didn't get one but did get a birth  for George Tissiman in 1841 in Scarborough

And Isaac was born in 1849 so he wouldn't appear in the 1841 census

Thank you very much for your help, but I'm still a little stuck as my mum lost her dad when she was 16 years old, she grew up to believe her dad was called Frank Bland but of late it has come to light that he actually was born as Isaac Bland Ryley in 1901 to Charlotte Ryley, the confussing think is my grandad is known as frank bland on my mums marriage certificate but on his marriage certificate to my nan he is frank bland formally know as Isaac bland, we have been told he was married before he met my nan, to whom i don't know to? all that I know he was widowed, but this is where is get more confused as  my granddad's brother was born Frank Bland in September 1899 so when i look on the census etc... my grandad comes up as Frank Band married to my Nan and Isaac Bland married to my nan and when I have tried to find a previous marriage I don't actually know if I'm looking at my grandad or my great uncle can anyone shed a little light on that too? I would really appreciate if anyone could help here too.

There seems to be 3 generations of isaac's and looking for them dose'nt seem to be any easy task when there are name changes and little information to go on
