Gamekeeper License
« on: Sunday 27 September 15 22:21 BST (UK) »
I have an ancestor who was a Gamekeeper in Southern Ireland around 1820.

My query is would he have need a Gun and or a Hunting License.

If yes, I assume these would be in the Court Records – have they survived?

Hoping someone can help.

Regards

Thank you for response

I am aware from other research that he lived on the Tipperary / Offaly border about 1830

My hope is that be tracking down the Gamekeeper Killing Licence is that it gives me a starting point to research Parish Records.
