This was my grandad’s family. Possibly an uncle. My grandad was named after James Ellis but known as ‘Ellis’ and he ran a cafe a few doors down from there where my Mum grew up in the 40’s.

I got it wrong - James’ daughter Ethel was my grandad’s mum. My grandad was James Ellis Standeven. He had a cafe on sandside a few doors down from the building in the photo (now the pizza express)
