Absent Voters list Epsom 1915
« on: Thursday 17 September 15 22:06 BST (UK) »
Can anyone help - I am trying to find out if there was an absent voters list in Epsom Surrey  for the men who went off to war in  WW1. I am trying to find out army information ie army number, regiment etc on my Grandfather Henry Collis b1884 and also his 6 brothers Charles Collis b 1885, William Collis b 1887, Frederick Collis b 1890, Edward Collis b 1892, James Collis b 1895 Alfred Collis b 1897.
They were all born in Shepherds Bush Fulham and moved to Epsom in Surrey, any help would be very much appreciated.
Thank you.

Try the Surrey History Centre http://www.surreycc.gov.uk/heritage-culture-and-recreation/archives-and-history/surrey-history-centre - but you won't find any electoral registers of any kind for 1915, none were taken during the war. The 1918 register is the one you want - the first where all men over 21 could vote in Parliamentary elections.
