Hi,
My grandfather, Patrick Dowling, was born on or around 5th April 1864 in Dublin.
I am trying to establish whether and how he might have been related to the Bridget Hitler, nee Dowling, born in Dublin on or around 3rd July 1891, who eloped with Alois Hitler, Adolf Hitler's elder half-brother.
I picked this up as a rumour in our family but I would like to see if there are any facts behind it.
Can anyone help shed some light please?
