Liverpool Catholic Burial 1967
« on: Friday 11 September 15 14:54 BST (UK) »
Hi all

Looking for a CHARLES WILLIAM O'BRIEN  (correct spelling)

died Feb 1967 aged 27. He died in Leigh, Lancashire.

He was buried in Liverpool. Have looked on ancestry catholic burials but cannot find him. He will be certain buried in a Catholic Cemetery.

He lived in the Old Swan area of Liverpool as a boy. Closest cemetery is St Oswalds church, Old Swan. Not sure if burials where still taking place there in 1967? Yew Tree Cemetery would be the next closest, but unable to find a record for him.

Any ideas please.

Thanks

Ant

Hi Ant

Yew Tree only goes up to 1965 on Ancestry. Ozranga (Marienne) might be able to find the grave details if it was at Yew Tree. Marienne hasn't been on the forum for a couple of weeks and there's some requests unanswered at the moment. You could add your request on the page linked below the records involved are from Liverpool RC cemeteries so it doesn't include RC sections in the council cemeteries:-

Thank you Blue.

I have just been told by a family member that he is indeed buried at Yew Tree Cemetery.

So, Is Yew tree all Catholic or does it have a Catholic section. I do not mind reading the headstones to find him.

Yew Tree is all RC it's run by Liverpool RC Archdiocese. I seem to remember Marienne having an enquiry from someone asking about a post 1965 burial at Yew Tree and she was able to get the grave section and number from her microfiche records.

Hi
just doing a bit of research on the O'Brien side of my family.  Charlie O'Brien (was a member of the liverpool group Rory Storm and the Hurricanes,) was my cousin on my dad's side of the family.
He lived in Pemberton Road, Old Swan, Liverpool 13 where I visited the family.
He sadly died very young
I remember going to his wedding, I think it was only a year before he died.   The band played
at his wedding.
He had a sister, Marie married to Frank and they had a son and a daughter (Pauline) and they emigrated to Canada.       I wonder if you have any more information on this O'Brien family?
Thanks
Sue
