Ashton-under-Lyne - St Michael Church

I am hoping that some kind person would be able to check a baptism record for me.  Three children from the same family were baptised on 12 December 1886.  They were:
 
Mary Lavinia Cassidy, dob 18 June 1876 - mother Lavinia Cassidy - father John Cassidy
Lizzie Ella Cassidy, dob 7 July 1878 - mother Lavinia Cassidy - father John Cassidy
Nellie Cassidy, dob 2 February 1886 - mother Lavinia Cassidy - no father's name

The above information was obtained from Family Search.  I am particularly interested in the father, John Cassidy - occupation etc.

The baptism records for the time you want are held on film at the Tameside Local Studies and Archives centre. It might be worth contacting them to see if they would make you a copy of the date required.

The birth registrations of the 3 girls are on www.cheshirebmd.org.uk conveniently the site gives mother's maiden names for children registered in what is now Tameside. All 3 children are registered as Cassidy however for Mary Lavinia and Lizzie Ella the mother's maiden name is given as Allen but for Nellie the maiden name given is Ella.

Abode Ashton

Perhaps they were baptised as their mother wanted Parish Relief.

The Ladysmith Barracks were in Ashton under Lyne.
