I found this earlier, might be worth keeping note of though not Middlesbrough

1901  - RG13/4282 f94 p36
Samuel Miller   26 bn Ireland
Martha Miller   29 bn Ireland
James Miller   11 months bn Methley, Yorkshire.

Later census James is called Samuel

Oh this man, why couldn't I have been interested in my family history when I was 10 yrs old.
I'v had a look, there are 4 Samuel Millers with a wife named Martha, I'm not sure that is my man but will keep it for future reference. Joseph or James always told my mum his parents where Lithuainian but that could have just been a fib as he couldn't even decide what his name was

why couldn't I have been interested in my family history when I was 10 yrs old.

That is a cry that will touch a nerve in everyone who is trying to find out more about their own family history.

Its the way of things that the young don't have the time to take an interest and then we regret that as we get older and realise that the past is important but there is n longer anyone around to ask about it.

The best we can do is to document and record our 'own' lives and leave that as a legacy for when the next generations reach the stage we are at now.

I would really urge everyone looking into the past to take the time to record their own lives.

Your descendants will love you for it!
