Carol, Yes that could easily be him on the electoral roll at number 16 Acfold Road. I know that they lived at number 19 Acfold Road before moving c.1930 to number 11.

Dawn, I have his birth certificate which says he was born on 27th April 1896 at 36 Woodville Road, St John Cardiff son of William George Thomas and Elizabeth Thomas (Christmas)

He is in the 1901 census at 14 Bovingdon Road in Fulham and the 1911 census at 9A Wandsworth Bridge Road, Fulham.

He is the informant on his father's death certificate in 1936 and his mother's in 1947 aswell as the executor of her will. I have looked but not seen a will for him.

The 1948 Electoral roll pushes my knowledge of his whereabouts one year on!!  :D

Thank you all for your help

He has possibly moved to 111 Hurlingham Road in Fulham by 1950 as there is a Herbert G Thomas on the electoral roll there.

Also there in 1951, 1952 and 1953 but not 1954

Makes me think he could be the death that i discounted in 1953!!

Do you know where his parents are buried?

Is he with them?

As you have dates of death for his parents, it might be a relatively easy look-up for the cemetery staff to do to see if he is with them

http://www.lbhf.gov.uk/directory/community_and_living/birth_marriage_and_death/burial_and_cremation/10968_cemeteries_and_burials.asp?LGNTF=32

Also ask at the same time if there is a headstone.

Thank you that is a great idea. Would I not need to know his date of death to find his burial though?

If you have the dates of his parents deaths,it would not take the staff very long too see if anyone else is buried with them.
