Help with Surname
« on: Sunday 30 August 15 16:53 BST (UK) »
Thomas Lewis farmer of Brithdir Farm married Annie ? in 1883.  What was Annie’s surname?  Annie’s birthplace is given as Rhymney, Monmouthshire on census returns and the 1911 reveal she had been married 28 years – married circa 1883.  I am clutching at straws here but with a birthplace of Rhymney I wonder if someone could please check Bedwelty marriages for details of a marriage for this couple.
Regards, Roy

Hi Rosie
That is the family; I have the same details of the 1891 and I also have the family on 1901.  Thomas died in 1906 and Annie is head of the household in 1911 with sons Lewis and Edmund.  Now with her surname of Thomas hopefully I can find her on the 1881.
Thanks
Best Regard, Roy

Hello Victor
I too found the entry on FreeBMD but thank you for the details anyway.  I was hoping to learn her surname so I can look for her on the 1881.  As you may have seen Rosie17's post; her family name was Thomas.

hi rosie
I'm glad you came back; I just look at my 1881 CD set and there is only one person named Ann Davies with the birthplace of Rhymney but not the one.

Hi just noticed a tree on Ancestry no parents names I'm afraid but they have a daughter for Annie born 1875 ..I noticed on the 1891 census there is a Eliza Warinster David ( could be Davies ) b 1875 Bedwellty ..
