Anthony Hamill from Maryport, Cumberland, England to Canada after WW1?
« on: Friday 28 August 15 16:54 BST (UK) »
Looking for info on my great grandmother's missing brother.
His name was Anthony Hamill and he was seen leaving Liverpool Docks on a ship for Canada in about 1921.
He served and survived WW1 but the loss of his brother John and the war affected him and he couldn't settle in his hometown.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
My family always wondered what happened to him.
Thank you.

What was the year of birth please ?

Parents names could also be helpful in identifying him.

This one seems to be coming up on ancestry as Arthur Hammill aged 23 years, heading to San Francisco. Father S Hammill 3 Crucible Place, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Anthony Hamill born about 1890.
His parents were James Hamill born 1840 and Mary or Elizabeth Hamill.
James Hamill married twice and confusingly named two of his sons Anthony Hamill.

Yes I think that's him.
It's very confusing because two lots of Irish Hamill's intermarried and had the same names in both families.
They also both had lodging houses in the same street in my hometown.
Untangling them is a nightmare.
My Hamill's were catholics.
