Breen Sisters Catherine Elizabeth & Margaret Agness
« on: Wednesday 26 August 15 11:27 BST (UK) »
Firstly thank you for reading this I am trying to trace as much information as I can regarding two sisters who emigrated to the USA

Catherine Elizabeth Breen b. 17/11/1893 d. 03/1973
Margaret Agnes Breen b. 14/10/1895 d. 1/12/1973

Catherine passed away in New York but Margaret passed away in the UK

I know they became Naturalized US citizens but I've been unable to find when they emigrated or where they are buried.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Kind regards

John

Naturalization also has photograph of Catherine - not all of them do so you are lucky.

SSDI shows Catherine Breen - Last Residence under zip code 10036 New York.

Have you tried looking up cemetery's in that area - Montefiore Cemetery is listed as 10036.

Margaret's application also has a photo.

Was there also a sister Emily? If so, I have found her and Catherine travelling to Canada together.

Record I found lists Catherine Breen as sister of name above (Emily Bowler) but that doesn't add up.

10 Nov.1928 "Duchess of Atholl" arrived Quebec from Liverpool, England: Catherine Breen, sister*, age 34, single, born Middlesborough, not in Canada before, passage paid by self, occupation in UK- factory, intended occupation- domestic, sister Miss M Breen 35 High Park Gardens Toronto, brother Mr C F Breen 91 Balfour St Holderness Rd Hull, landed immigrant

Think 'sister' belongs with Emily Bowler's name travelling with her brother William

Hi,

I think that it is Catholic Women's League Hostel, you can see a photo of the building
circa 1924 here.
