Cando where are your photos from.
Not Mildura and all are identified.

The DAVIES deaths were not at Brighton nor were their places of residence Brighton. They were both resident at Renmark and died at Adelaide [in hospital or place of care] and North Adelaide.  I think the burials at Brighton North Cemetery has caused some confusion.

Brighton North Cemetery is in the suburb of Somerton Park and the address in the passenger list was at Marino.  I don't see the relevance.

It may not be easy to find the marriage Bee as privacy laws are pretty strong here.  At least we have found when he originally arrived.

Not a problem, just like to fill in the blanks.  All help is greatly appreciated.

One further question, Syd's sister Rose died in Brighton SA, would that be anywhere near were Syd & Lil died assuming that the deaths CassT found are the right ones.

Rose did not die at Brighton.  She is buried at Brighton North Cemetery.

DAVIES Rose  82 years  Status Widow  Relative John Hector DAVIES [Deceased Husband]
28 Aug 1971
Residence Renmark     Death Place North Adelaide  Ade 136A/6217

Sydney and Lilian's 'abode' prior to their death was noted as Glynde which is miles away and across the other side of town. The ELLIS address of Angas Crescent, Marino in 1961 doesn't seem to have any relevance to a burial at Brighton North cemetery in 1957....and Brighton North Cemetery is in the suburb of Somerton Park.

Earlier in this thread the death of Sydney Ellis was given as 12/4/1990.
The billiongraves.com site has a photo of a gravestone in Centennial Park cemetery, Pasadena SA, with correct name & wife.  It also says loved father of John.  I was under the impression that they did not have children, as Sydney would have been c46 years old and Lil a similar age when they got married.

SA Marriage: 1931#329/516 DAVIES, John Hector and ELLIS, Rose; Adelaide
http://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Davies-4052 ..."John and Rose were married at the office of the Registrar General, Flinders Street, Adelaide on 28 November 1931. Witnesses at the wedding were Alma Wyatt (John’s sister) and Alma’s husband, Ray Wyatt, who at that time, lived at Peterhead, near Port Adelaide.

In 1935, Rose received news from England advising her that her older sister, Nancy Stone, had died soon after giving birth to twins, who also died. Nancy also left three children, Ken, Enid, and Rodney, who were being cared for by a grandparent.

Rose and Jack travelled to Hull, and brought Rodney, aged five years, back to Renmark, where they formally adopted him on 22 September 1936, naming him Rodney Stone Davies. Jack and Rose had no children of their own."

Adding: Renmark Cemetery: DAVIES, Rodney Stone age 51y; Date of Burial 19/11/1982
http://www.renmarkparinga.sa.gov.au/page.aspx?c=2716

Where on earth do you find all the info  :o

Slight discrepancies.  I don't know when Rose came to England but Rose Davies & young Rodney Stone travelled back to Australia on the "Orama" which departed London  27/10/1934.  No sign of  John Davies travelling with them.

Why don't you click on the link which Ros has provided.

You will then see the full text as well as names and contact information about the authors of the biography.

A lot of kind people have provided lots of info and many links in a very short space of time, obviously I've missed one of the links for which I can only apologise if that has upset you.

A big thankyou to everyone who has helped.

Bee if that is your Sydney ELLIS at Centennial Park have you considered that Lillian may have been married previously with a child?

Yes it had crossed my mind, though I think I can live without proving it.

I remember when they came to the UK in 1961, but I was only young so never really appreciated meeting them.
