Zoom out in the picture you want so that fits in the screen with nothing else showing in  the image, the numbers etc. Then  press Print screen on the top row of your keyboard. You can then open it in a photo editing programme, crop off all the unwanted part of the screen image, increase the picture to the size you want and save to your computer. I  have done about forty of the pictures this way.

 If you don't have an image editing programme, download Irfanview, it is free and will do the job very well.

Thanks very much for that info Jebber i wish i knew about this before, i once sat and took pictures with my phone so there horrendous!

Glad to have helped, I am not very techie minded, but tried this as an experiment on another site a long time ago, I find it works well if the original photos are  a decent resolution.

If you have a Family Tree on Ancestry which is linked to Family Tree Maker, then if you link one of these photos to an event in an individual's life then, when you synch your trees, the photo is downloaded to your computer and attached to the individual. It can then be accessed on your computer. The resolution of the photo isn't brilliant, but it's good enough to view & print if you want.
Dimensions are 1500x990, file size is 154kb.
