Hi,
Looking for any information on the Folliard families in the area from the early 19th century. James Folliard moved to Scotland around 1820, so have no info on his parents and probably no way of finding out as he died before registration started in Scotland, but would like to know any history of the name in general in the area. I seen a very interesting article about the 'Big Wind' in the area in the 1750s that mentioned Folliotts in the area and other sites suggest that Folliard was how Folliott was pronounced locally, does anyone know if this is true? James was born around 1795-1800 and married an Isabella Crawford. He appears to have had a brother William who was at least briefly in Scotland too. James' eldest son was also called William.
Thanks,
Rob
