Hi pen4,

I searched 1st Donegore Pb marriage records 1806-1845, but found no (even approximate) matches.

I know of the MOORE and ENGLISH names associated with Glenavy CoI.
[There is a report of a tragic event involving a young Margaret MORRISON in Glenavy on 26-FEB-1834.

'Tis pure speculation on whether this might help you ...

P.S. The only other things that I know about the MORRISONs are:

a) They were chased out of the island of Lewis by the MacLEODs and the MacIVERs;

b) Marian MORRISON (stage name "John WAYNE") had roots near Randalstown.

Hi, looked at the parish registers and could not locate any of the 3 marriages you seek. In same registers, I then looked for births for John Morrison circa 1815 and Mary Anne Moore circa 1815 and found the following:

John Morrison birth @ 1815 Antrim:

1800 St Anne's, Shankill,Belfast  Church of Ireland
1809 St Anne's, Shankill, Belfast  Church of Ireland
1815 Rosemary St Presbyterian, Belfast  Presbyterian
1816 St Anne's, Shankill, Belfast  Church of Ireland
1819 St Anne's, Shankill, Belfast  Church of Ireland

Mary Anne Moore birth @ 1815 Antrim:

Mary  1801
Mary  1806
Mary  1809
Mary Anne 1812
Mary  1814
Mary  1815
Mary Jane  1816

If I may, one of these may be correct for the 2 relations you seek and the again none may be the correct one. You need more info to identify which if any is correct. Many parish registers are illegible, missing/lost or not given over for microfilming so without more you cannot just randomly pick one that seems most likely. If you get their death certs in Scotland, they may have listed at least one parent which would narrow these down. That would be my first suggestion. Also, if any children were born in Scotland get the child's birth cert as it should have the parents date of marriage on it as I could find no marriage forthem in the registers. You may be able to ID the church and contact them directly. Hope this helps, Kim

Thank you all for your help.
I have Scottish death notices of both John Morrison & his wife Mary Ann Moore. They say that they were both born in Co Antrim. John's parents were John Morrison, a master grain miller & Maragret English. Mary Ann's parents were James Moore, farmer & Elizabeth Crawford. There son James was born in 1838 in Lanarkshire, Scotland. On Mary Ann's death notice it mentioned their first 2 children who died young. Mary Ann b 1834 died at 11 days and Hugh d 1839 aged 4. I cannot find Hugh's death but it must have been in Scotland. I would love to know where in Co Antrim they came from. And how long the Morrison's had been in Ireland?
Many Thanks for your help. I have plenty of info from once they arrived in Scotland but need the info from Ireland.
