Kerevaugh Masonic Lodge, County Antrim
« on: Friday 14 August 15 02:04 BST (UK) »
Anyone know the location of this Masonic Lodge?

Kerevaugh Masonic Lodge, County Antrim.

John McCahan who lived in Drumnaheigh in 1792 took a demit from the Kerevaugh Masonic Lodge in May 1792 and traveled to America in August 1792.

I wonder if this is a corruption of Carrowreagh?

There is a reference to a warrant being issued "to Brethren in Carrareagh (ie. Carrowreagh), Antrim on 1st June 1809".  The warrant was subsequently returned in 1836. I'm just wondering if a previous warrant was issued for Carrowreagh.

You are likely looking at a lodge not far from where he lived. Here's the location of Drumnaheigh townland-

Just looking again at the dates and there seems to be something not quite right here.
John McCahan who lived in Drumnaheigh in 1792 took a demit from the Kerevaugh Masonic Lodge in May 1792 and traveled to America in August 1792.

"The Loyal Orange Institution was founded after the Battle of the Diamond on September 21, 1795."

It's "the Masonic" rather than "the Orange".

Thank you all for the help!

I think Carrowreagh is a very good possibility. Close to Drumnaheigh and Mosside.
Kerevaugh could indeed be a corruption of Carrowreagh. The fact that a warrant was issued there is more indication that is the one.

Hope to make a return visit to Bushmills early next year.

Thanks again!
