Mary Verden and Elizabeth Jessie Verden
« on: Thursday 13 August 15 23:40 BST (UK) »
Mary Verden born July 1894 Islington to John and Rose Verden. She lives with her siblings and can be seen on 1901 and 1911 census.
I have found a potential marriage to a William C S Carthew in June 1950. This would mean she has left it very late to marry. Would be greatful for any further information anyone can find.

Also interested in her sibling Elizabeth Jessie Verden born to John and Rose Verden in October 1888. An Elizabeth Verden married a James Worster (Born 1881) in 1912. I have found this link: http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=73062363&ref=acom and wondered if this could possibly be the same Elizabeth Jessie Verden. Any information or ideas greatly appreciated.

Yes - I believe her to be Mary Wallis Verden.
I was lead to that birth through a Mary Verden on the census in 1901 and 1911 (no middle name recorded).
Although the census estimates her birth to be 1895 so I'm not 100% sure I have the right Mary Verden but couldn't find any other Mary Verden births registered in London.

What about Mary W. Verden married 1916 in Hammersmith? (to William L G Foster)

Sadly her husband died in 1918

It's possible she remarried in 1929 (freebmd.rootsweb.com) to Diggory Stanton.  (He appears to have divorced his first wife in 1928).

This would match up with the 1974 death.

Where did you find the marriage in 1916? I have found a marriage in the name of William L G Foster to a Verden but cannot find the Verden entry stating her first name etc. Where did you find this to confirm it was a Mary that he married?

Ah don't worry found it now on a different database! Thank you!
