Whatever you do don't rely on the family trees on Ancestry.   I have seen many poor ones but those take the biscuit.   Born 1887.   Married 1805.   Children born 1816 etc.  Muddled generations and very shoddy recording.

I have been using ancestory to research but using records. In my 24 hours on ancestory I have found some of my Relatives recorded as being born in New Zealand whilst living in Northumberland due to a mispelling of Northumberland in a census (Northland). Some of the generations get muddled in the side i'm researching at the moment but I am relying on records that I have found.
In one such tree Noah Gurman has a death recorded after Fred Gurman was born. However, this seems to be complete fiction because there is no  source cited, no record of his death anywhere let alone his existence after his marriage to Selina in 1886.
