« on: Wednesday 12 August 15 13:53 BST (UK) »
Mary Elizabeth Hurst was born 19 Oct 1890 in Co Fermanagh , Ireland . In 1916 she was living in Dulwich London . we understand that around 1921 she was a nurse at The Royal Victoria Hospital at Netley near Southampton . But have no idea what happened next . Would appreciate any information. Sorry I have so little. Many Thanks .

There are a couple of trees online showing her in Ireland until the 1911 census. However you could contact Southampton archives for info. about Netley Hospital nurses.
regards.

Ancestry shows 7 deaths for Mary Elizabeth xxx born 19th October 1890, but none cross-reference for any marriage for a Mary E Hurst.

There is no marriage for a Mary E Hurst in Hampshire until Portsmouth, 1953.

Any other family information to give a clue as to whether she stayed in Hampshire or travelled elsewhere?

I do not think that Southampton City Archives will be able to assist [in any case Netley comes under the [Winchester] Hampshire  Record Office as it is not in the city of Southampton]. Please see http://www.qaranc.co.uk/findqas.php on leads to trace various nursing corps.

thanks everyone. I know she is still in England in 1926 as she was a witness to her sister Victoria's wedding in July 1926 in Reigate . Sorry that's all I know . But will go through my papers tomorrow in case there is something I have forgotten. Have not checked the travel records yet --I mention this because at different times her sisters seem to be going to South Africa, USA and China but they all return at some point to England .

Hello
have rechecked my papers and have no more  information on Mary Elizabeth Hurst --sorry . Two of her sisters eventually move  to  Worthing . Both unmarried . Anne Maud Marion (Mysie) dies June 1973 . Her sister Muriel Moore Hurst dies 17 Dec 1982. From Family Search it says her death notice was published in the Times 21 Dec 1982---but I and others have failed to find it.. My guess is that she will have been the last of the sisters to die.
So no clues about Mary Elizabeth . I can only guess she married at some point which is why we cant find her .

Hi,

No - she didn't marry - there is a probate for her

"Hurst Mary Elizabeth of 4 Southey Road Worthing died 22nd March 1966.  Administration (with will) Lewes 7th June to Muriel Moore Hurst spinster. £1249."
