Yes I hope so as it is a few years old now.I started this back in 2015,so there is a possibility that there might not be anyone around any more who would remember anything .

Hi just spoken to my sister she can't remember land girls on the farm but they had Itailian POW working on the farm. she thinks the Mellows family lived in one of the cottages. also might have been used for evacuees. and yes I did go to Thurstable school. we were living in Oxley Green Farm then.
Hello all, I'm an amateur family historian and have been researching my family tree for over 25 years. I was surprised that my great aunt died in Tolleshunt Knights after living in West Ham most of her life. Her son Horace Mallows, lived in one of the Manifold Wick cottages, with his wife Maud. They were living there in 1939 i.e. prior to the outbreak of WWII. He is described as a smallholder.
I'm not surprised that the farm was requisitioned but I know that the Mallows were still living in the area until my great aunt died in 1953. Horace didn't die until 1993 but he moved to Colchester I believe.
My Mum never mentioned her aunt Ethel although she did tell me about her other aunts and uncles that she remembered.
Regards to all of you and I hope that my Mallows connection is of interest.
