Well the birth of a Sidney Leslie ALLEN in SA is not of any interest then.

An online tree which is well sourced except for the following info... Sidney Leslie ALLEN died 18 Aug 1964 and no further detail.  I always treat online trees with caution.

Ros I would be interested to know a little more about the divorce as I did a quick search and it looks like they had 3 children when he deserted the family. As long as it's not too much trouble.

I posted the information about the SA Sidney Leslie ALLEN as his parents are John and Emily, the same as my Sidney and the were born only 5 months apart. It could be easy to get their records confused.

The birth was in the Colony of South Australia so how could births in another Colony, in this case, of New South Wales, become confused.  Each Colony [State after Federation] was responsible for their own BDM Registry and today each State and Territory in Australia maintains their own records.

FYI....John ALLEN and Emily Helena THOMAS were having children at Port Wakefield in the Colony of South Australia from 1881 to 1915.

Maybe I wasn't clear in what I wrote. Just meant that if the SA Sidney Leslie ALLEN moved from SA all other details on the record are almost the same at the one that I'm looking for. I don't have access to any electoral rolls from SA to confirm he didn't move interstate.

And yes I will be trying to follow-up the death in 1964 to see if it might be correct.

OK...I misunderstood your request.  The SA birth is for Sydney not Sidney.

There are no online electoral rolls for South Australia.

I found 3 children on the electoral rolls living with Emily Ethel after the divorce. She remarried in 1938 to Mervyn Thomas ECCLESTONE.
