Amazing Trish. Can't imagine how many images you must have stored in your memory and are able to retrieve when needed!

Trish, I am amazed and beyond thrilled that you have solved this puzzle! The house that had driven so many of us so mad for so long.

I was thinking about this again only a couple of days ago when I discovered some old links I’d saved in my ipad notes.

Well found!

Added: Browsing through the early replies on this thread, some people were fairly “warm” location wise.

What a fantastic find, very well done Trish.

I was looking back at this thread and its predecessor only a few weeks ago (mainly for amusement value, I must admit  ;D  ;D ) and wondered if it would ever be solved. My wish has been granted  :D

This was the house that I thought I could recall in a picture showing convalescent WW1 soldiers.

But perhaps not.

Fantastic that the name has been found. ;D

The late arthurk was a big part of this search.

I'm sure he'd be delighted to know the eventual result!

I was thinking the same thing this morning, Jen.  Arthur loved the W.A.I. threads.

Absolutely brilliant - two of the most intriguing and tricky of the W.A.I. puzzles found in such quick succession.  Well done.  With hindsight, perhaps we should have been studying the archives of Country Life much more carefully.

The W.A.I. searches were such fun and enjoyed by so many.  So much knowledge about architecture, styles was shared on them.  It improved some of my searching skills and geography immensely.

Take another bow trish118.

Nell
