PYE - NORWICh
« on: Monday 11 July 05 08:18 BST (UK) »
I am trying to locate my partner's great great grandfather, George Pye, on the 1871 census.  Have found him in 1861 living at Ames Yard, Norwich and in 1881 at Bull Close Road, Norwich.  He was born c.1826 in coltishall and married Susan.  Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you
Kim

Mary Ann Pye wife age 24 dressmaker born Norwich

I've just found this site and have noticed the enquiries about George Pye. He was my great-great grandfather and I have been able to find out a little about his background; he was a maltster in Colitishall where he was born before marrying Mary Ann Goreham in 1849 in Norwich. His father was a William Pye who may well have been born in Neatishead in 1785. George died in Norwich in 1885. My line is through his son William, whose daughter Rosetta Pye was my grandmother.
