If he wasn't baptised/christened there will be no record...............I have the same problem

You may be able to work out who they should be if they used the Scottish naming pattern for the kids which may help.
You may be able to discount some names if you know who his wife's parents were & if any were named after them.
Was he married in Scotland

Maybe a family member was a witness which may help re names
