Have you seen the 1911 census? We are not allowed to post details on here but I would be looking for a marriage a little later on FreeBMD c 1886 and leaving the 'e' off Clark.

I know I should be grateful, and I am really (honest!), but I think I'm going to scream

William grew up in the Bedford Street area of St Margaret and has no known connection to Rutland so I hadn't even looked for a marriage outside of the Leicester RD, but I certainly cant rule it out.
Hopefully someone will have the records for All Saints for the right period & can put me out of my misery, but if not then it looks like I'll need to add to my growing collection of CD's / Transcripts as it'll still be cheaper to rule the 1883 ones out that way then to purchase yet more certificates - and of course I always pick the right one last, to the point where I'm thinking of wallpapering the room with them
