Looking for information on a Joseph McPherson who was resident in the Leeward Islands and died and was buried in Antigua by a Masonic funeral; a medical doctor and a governor of one or all of the islands? He died approximately 13th December 1929
I can't seem to get any information, can anyone help?
He was born in Killead County Antrim

Hi dennyd

Follow this link to find the exact entry, you've been given the name and date of death

https://www.gov.uk/search-will-probate

and once you have the entry you can pay to get a copy. Costs £10 and you get sent the file by email as a pdf in a few working days depending on the work load.

Thank-you that is so helpful, I didn't know where to start as I'm new to this and someone told me to register on here. My mother said he was a governor and also that he was knighted, would anyone know how I would go about finding this out as my google search has shown up nothing? I'm interested in untangling the hearsay haha

Go to the wills site above site and click on ‘start now’

Select wills and probate 1858-1996

Enter the surname and year of death 1930 as the probate was granted in the next year.

You can select 1929 but his entry wasn’t there so I went forward one year to 1930

(Alternatively click on this link but by doing this you won’t know how the system works)

https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk/Calendar?surname=mcpherson&yearOfDeath=1930&page=2#calendar

using the image, complete the boxes with the calendar information on the right side of the screen. You must do this accurately, if not you won’t get your will and you will still be charged.

Add the details to your basket, and then proceed to the next screens to complete your order, you’ll need to register before you pay.

Hope this helps
