Hi There

You started with a very specific story that she was 'brought to England aged 6 weeks old'.

Where has this come from ?

Tara

Hi Tara, sorry to be so late replying.

It was either my mother or grandmother who made that comment. I have just accepted it but again I do not know if it is correct.

Bye

Hi Retriever,

I am just curious here. When Jane Parker married in 1893, a witness was Jane Elizabeth Parker.
When Emma Parker married in 1891, a witness was Jane E Parker.
Do you know who Jane Elizabeth was?

 Just a thought Retriever,
I spent a long time looking for an ancestor missing on census night, she turned up on the return form of her married son and family, perhaps she was elsewhere visiting a son or daughter in 1911.
Another missing ancestor was traced to an infirmary at an institution.

Good luck with Catherine, will follow your progress with great interest.

Hi Heywood, Jane Elizabeth was George William Parker's sister.

Scatty, thanks for the interest. I think I tried all the living children on census night but got nowhere. It was a while ago though so I will recheck. I also tried just putting in the first letter of forename and surname together with birth year but again no luck.

Thanks for the suggestions though, I welcome each and every one.

Thanks R.

Was hoping we might find Catherine tucked away with Jane E somewhere!

I saw her death address on the family tree and checked electoral registers. She wouldn't be listed at that time but the men's names don't seem to be family members.
She may have just rented a room. :-\
It's so frustrating, isn't it!

I think a lot hinges on the '6 week' story.

This may not be fact.

She MAY have arrived in Ireland just prior to marrying which means she won't show on the 1861 Census.

We still can't be 100% sure if she was even Irish given the variants in her POB on the English Census that she has been found on.

I suppose the bad news to all this is that there is not enough details here, so far, to trace her family in Ireland, again IF she WAS Irish.

Have you gotten all the baptisms of her children ?

Any of HER family members as Godparent's ?

Tara
