Louisa Mawer/Moore nee Dafter

Any help in finding Louisa Mawer/Moore nee Dafter would be appreciated. 

Fanny Dafter married Berry Houlton Mawer in 1885 in the Bristol area of Gloucester.  (Surname Mawer)

They had a child Fanny Elizabeth Mary Ann Mawer baptised 3 August 1884 at Holy Trinity, Bristol. 

Berry Moore died at Barton Regis in 1893, presumable in the workhouse as he was there in 1891.

My questions are - Did they marry at Holy Trinity, Bristol?  Was anyone named? Where were they living?  Did they have more children?  What happened to Louisa and her child?

There is a marriage between a Henry Houlton Moore and Louisa Dafter on 25 December 1885 at St Matthias, Bristol.

Its only a transcript that I can see at the moment and Henry and Berry could well have been mixed up if the writing is difficult to read.  Henry/Berry son of Peter, Louisa daughter of John

Louisa, aged 46, is with Fanny, aged 6, at 23 Hulbert Street, Bristol in 1891 (if she is the Louisa Dafter born in Newport, Monmouthshire?).  Census ref is RG12; Piece: 1982; Folio: 66; Page: 3.

They are down as Moore not Mawer here and sharing the house with a family called Rogers

Berry Houlton Mawer was baptised at Anwick, Lincolnshire the son of Peter Mawer and Elizabeth Houlton.  Elizabeth is one of my ancestors and because of hitting a 'brick wall' I have decided to try working sideways. 

The marriage at St Matthais Bristol, looks promising, I have used Freebmd and Family Search to help get so far.  In 1881 Berry was at Lincoln with his sister, he was named then as Bertie H Moore.  He was working as a labourer on the railway, which explains how he could have been in Bristol. 

Question why wasn't his wife Louisa in the workhouse?

There could be several reasons why Louisa wasn't in there.  If Berry had been ill for some time, it may be that Louisa couldn't look after him and he had go there.

Usually people went into the workhouse through poverty, illness or old age or no family to support them through that.  Getting his death certificate might shed some light on where and how he died and if it was a long term illness.  Its also possible that they could have separated and he had nowhere else to live.

Which workhouse was he in?
