I think it's 'Sportsman', Margaret Street, Haggerstone.

The children are not with him in 1881. It appears he started a new family!!!!

So it is not only Mary that is missing in 1881 but the children as well  :-\  Which of them do you have after 1871

1871 has

Joseph Mann   7 St Lukes
Elizabeth Mann   5 St George (in the East)
Arthur Mann   4 Bethnal Green
John Mann           1 St George (in the east)

Arthur was descibed as Idiot  :'(

In 1881 census I have Joseph W Mann aged 4 and Rosetta Mann aged 2 both born in Bethnal Green.
This is obviously not the same Joseph as in 1871 census.

Are the children from the second marriage the line you are following.
