WW1 Hugh Galt
« on: Friday 10 July 15 12:47 BST (UK) »
Hugh Galt WW1 is the witness signature on my great uncles Soldier's Will, Hugh and his family are from Stewarton in Ayrshire, below is some information on Hugh also naming his parents, his mother was Mary.  If anyone can help or suggest some way of contacting any living relatives of Hugh I'd be very grateful, I would like to send them a copy of this Will with Hugh's own signature.

Thanks
Alba

Hugh GALT (1880-1915) was my paternal grandmother Mary's younger brother, so he is my great uncle too. Her gravestone is located in St Maurs churchyard. Kilmaurs.
The Stewarton Historical Society has helped me with gathering some more background information, including his death 100 years ago in the Battle of Loos.
I am making a personal visit to Loos on the centenary of Hugh's death, 25th September 2015.
It would be most interesting to see a copy of his Soldier's Will, as I have managed to access a couple of Hugh's military service records through the Ancestry website.
I look forward to seeing your reply.
