THey must have left England. James Hughes died in the USA in 1865. Is there anything in the 1851 census?

Hi
We seem to be struggling with this one, I have checked the 1851 census for Mary Cavenagh Birkenhead and there isn't one there.
There a hundreds of Hughes individuals indexed in the 1851.
Have you the age of James and Patrick ? also where and when did Mary and James marry ? and what makes you think they are in Birkenhead ?

I have a marriage certificate for James Hughes and Mary Cavanah(Cavanagh). They were married October 8, 1856 at St. Werburgh's Chapel, Grange Lane, Birkenhead. James was 21 which would have him born in 1834-35. He lived at 48 William St. in Birkenhead in 1856. His father Patrick was probably at least 35 years of age in 1851. Mary was 20 years old at the time of marriage. Her address was given as Seymour St. Tranmere. The district of the marriage was Wirral.
