Photograph of Winifred Rowe
« on: Wednesday 01 July 15 19:52 BST (UK) »
I have posted this rather badly damaged photo of my Grandmother. It was taken in 1939/1940. I believe she was with the Auxiliary Ambulance Service based at the South Eastern Ambulance Station (now Deptford Ambulance Station and still in use) on New Cross Road, SE London. Taken 1939/1940.

Would any of the photo restoration wizard be able to do anything with it.

Any help is gratefully received.

Thanks in anticipation

cesjak

This photo is not impossible for some of the expert restorers on this board - (not me) - but my computer is showing that it has been scanned at 72dpi.  For such a badly damaged photo you really need to scan again at 300dpi - at least.

It is big now, but just in size, not dpi - Japeflakes has had a good go! - and probably has sore eyes from the effort.

 - but it isn't going to give you the best results until the scanning is better . . . . .  (if people don't have access to the photo, please tell us in the original post so we don't keep asking for a better scan.)

Sorry - we sound like dripping taps, but there is a thread at the top of the photo board telling you how to scan to get the best result.   [and if you can't understand it (as I couldn't when I was brand new)  ask for help from someone]     ;)

And all this said in a spirit of friendliness, and a wish to assist.       ;) ;) ;) ;)
