Undeliverable emails
« on: Saturday 27 June 15 10:10 BST (UK) »
The "Mail Delivery System" whoever that is, has bounced back emails from someone I have been corresponding with regularly as "Undeliverable" and with the explanation  "too many mails for this host" (or something similar I haven't got the exact words any more).

I am using window live mail totally successfully for this and other addresses.  The address is a yahoo.com one.

Would someone please kindly explain, in English, what all that means, why is it happening and can I do anything about it.
I am Zoe Northeast, granddaughter of Maximilian Double.

It is with great difficulty I share with you that in the early hours of 07 August 2021, Maximilian passed away unexpectedly but peacefully.

With deep sadness,
Zoe

If you can send to other people, then I would guess that there is a problem at the receiver's end, rather than yours. Perhaps their mail box is full? Can you contact them by phone or text and ask them if there is a problem?

This could explain it

That was my first thought! ;D

But (apparently) Yahoo.com mailboxes are unlimited? :-\

You need to read all of the "Undeliverable" email you receive.
There should be clues in there as to where the error occurred?

I too have had similar problems with gmail and aol. Friends have tried to send me e
mails and been unable to do so, I have not been able to send to them either, and now one friend who I have been sending emails to, I just get a message unable to deliver.

Not sure what the limit is for existing accounts... it is now:

Create your Yahoo email account Fast, simple-to-use email with 1 TB of free mail storage that comes with
all the goodness of Yahoo. Create your unique username to get started.
=================

"too many mails for this host"  means their mailbox is full, this includes Deleted Mails IF they don't empty their messages in the deleted folder which many don't, as they think they are Deleted completely.

The Deleted Folder is only a folder which stores the mail... and takes up space in their mailbox!!

For Gmail messages that have been in Bin for more than 30 days will be automatically deleted.

Thanks everyone.  K Garrad - you are right of course, tend to hit delete too early!  Wording is as Hall mark has said.  My correspondent says she has no problem with emails from anyone else but I haven't yet asked about her deleted box.  I'll get in touch again.

Thanks again.

I used to have this with a friend who uses Virgin net, once the new month started he could send and receive again, until he got his settings altered to removed deleted mails off the server.

As Hallmark said earlier, they all count towards the amount of mails in their inbox.
