I am wondering if this broadcast has led to the sudden influx of people looking for living people on here this morning  ::)   ;)

I think so Rosie as three appeared within minutes of the broadcast. Manchester seems to be on top of it.

A lovely story on the TV, that is the first episode I have watched and its quite an interesting programme, better without presenters.  Having read the backstory thread on here last night, seeing John and Diane on the TV this morning made me a little teary! :)

Congratulations to all those involved in the search.

agreed rosie but it's still good to see a happy outcome. :)

however we still need to take care as not all enquiries will have such a good reason behind them

Missed the first 2 or 3 minutes but saw the rest - very good programme

Mr Marma was impressed when i told him the John & Diane featured were a Rootschat success story!
Put my trip last week to photograph a local grave for a fellow rootschatter more into perspective for him :)

Barb

I thought I was losing the plot when every new look up I clicked was for living people  ;D  Still I will look forward to watching this episode tonight.

In view of the influx of new members looking for possibly still-living relatives after this morning's programme, would it be advisable / possible to add something to the home page announcement to emphasise that Rootschat is aimed at looking for ancestors not living relatives?

It certainly has. I wondered what on earth was going on until I read this thread which explained everything  ::)
